Laura Lee Mikel

Perrysville, Ind. - Laura Lee Mikel, 65, of Perrysville passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 9:49 p.m. EST at Gibson Family Hospice in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was born June 9, 1954, the daughter of the late Shirley McDonald and Donald Baranowski.

She married Mark Mikel May 24, 1972 in Danville, Illinois and he survives.

Other survivors include her daughter: Robin (Michael) Cabrera of Phoenix, Arizona; three sons: Travis Mikel of Perrysville, Indiana; Clifford (Christina) Mikel of Perrysville, Indiana and Terry (Sara Norman) Mikel of Westville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Laura was a 1972 graduate of North Vermillion High School. She later went on to Danville Area Community College where she earned her associates degree in early childhood development. She used that degree to later work for the Community Action Head Start Program in Covington, Indiana. She was a member and historian of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Unit Post #263. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Celebration of Life: 4 p.m. EST Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Cayuga American Legion Post #263. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is honored to be caring for the Mikel family.
