Laura L. Siddens

Tilton- Laura L. Siddens, 80, of Tilton passed away at 10:20 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at her home. She was born on July 23, 1931 in Danville to Harry and Madge Lowe Turner. She married Donald R. Siddens on December 26, 1952. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Christy (Charles Phalen) O'Brien of Danville; daughters-in-law Londa Carder and Debbie Siddens; sister Rosalie Styer of Tilton; five grandchildren, Brad Carder, Beau Siddens, Peter O'Brien, Kyle O'Brien, and Lindsay O'Brien; and nine great-grandchildren, Karenann, Christian, Parker, Gaige, Shelby, Dylan, Amara, Wrigley, and Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Billie Dean Carder and Scott A. Siddens, a brother Bill Turner, and sister Edna Scarlett. Laura worked for Illinois Bell as an operator until her retirement in 1982. She liked flowers, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Cubs games with her husband and playing cards and vacations with her Tilton Club group. A service to celebrate the life of Laura L. Siddens will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Matt Filicsky will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, October 26, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Carle Hospice, or the Vermilion County Animal Shelter Fund.
