Laura Ann Nichols

Laura Ann Nichols, 51, of Milan, Illinois, formerly of Danville, went home to be with her Lord at 8:40am, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on July 5, 1960, in Danville, the daughter of the late Oran James Palmer and Carol (Michael) Miller. On December 23, 1997, Laura married Robert "Rob" Nichols. He survives along with Laura's mother, Carol, one daughter; Stephanie Ann Harvey, two sisters; Lisa (Bob) Messick, DeAnne Tibbetts, and her brother; Shane (Cherish) Hilton. Her grandson; Cole Harvey, and seven nieces and nephews; Zack, David, and Mariah Messick, Tyler, and Kathryn Williams, Emmalee, and Mason Hilton, her mother and father in law; Robert and Marilyn Nichols, and her sister-in-law; Tammy Powell, also survives Laura. In addition to her father, her grandparents; Virginia and William Chaplin, and Carolyn and Chuck Hilton preceded Laura in death. She attended the Danville area schools. She enjoyed being a sale associate for Wal-Mart, working as a cashier in the Moline, Illinois area for 11 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed being with her family, listening to all different genres of music, and adored her cat, "Luna". Laura will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of Laura Nichols Life has been scheduled for 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00pm until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Laura's name to the donor's favorite charity.
