Larry Wayne Williams, 71, of Danville, passed away at 7:55 am on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born in Decatur, IL on August 9, 1939, the son of Merle and Mary (Gunn) Williams. He married Elise Glover in 1961. She survives along with their four children, Wayne (Marilyn) Williams, Bryan Williams, Karen (Brett) Cearlock, and Deana LaCombe. His seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his brother, Bob Williams also survives Larry. His parents preceded him in death. Larry was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1961; In 1993, Larry worked and drove form McLane trucking in Danville, retiring on April 15, 2005. He was a member of the Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville, faithfully serving as deacon and would always be there to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping, boating, tinkering around in his garage, and traveling. He was known for his witty sense of humor, kindness and smile. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of Larry Wayne Williams Life will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville with burial and military honors to follow at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. The Williams family has asked that memorial donations may be made in Larrys name to the Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville.
