WESTVILLE - Larry Vincent Hart, 57, of Meeks Station, Westville and Georgetown, passed away at 11:14pm, Tuesday, May 27th, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. Larry was born on July 20th, 1950, the son of Paul Vincent and Charlotte (Sliva) Hart. Those who survive include: his mother, Charlotte; his brothers, Paul, Mike, & Rick, all of Westville; his special daughter, Cheon (Shawn) Hackett of State Line, IN; his granddaughters, Bailey Hackett & Bethany Kay Francis; his aunts, Viola Sliva, Alice Sliva, Betty Porcheddu, & Leah Yerem; and his uncle, John (Lavonne) Hart. He was preceded in death by: his father, Paul Hart, in 2007; his grandparents, John & Helen Sliva, Walter & Edna Hart; his uncles, John Sliva and Jake Sliva; his aunts, Mary Nier and Marjorie Nigra; and cousins, Johnny Jay Sliva and Scarlett Kielich. Larry graduated from Westville High School, where he was a three-year starter and letterman in basketball. Following his graduation, he spent two years in the U.S. Army. He greatly enjoyed all outdoor activities, animals, especially his cats, and spending time in the woods with his dog, Wolfe, whom he dearly loved. Larry also loved music and enjoyed strumming his guitar. A celebration of Larrys life will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 31st, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. Connie Bandy will officiate. Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm, Friday, May 30th, 2008, at the funeral chapel. He will be laid to rest in McKendree Cemetery. Memorials may be given in Larrys name to: the Humane Society, 1225 N Collett St, Danville.
