Larry Uplinger

Tangier, Ind. - Larry Uplinger, 77, of Tangier, passed away at 8:31 a.m. EST Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was born June 1, 1941 in Perrysville, Indiana the son of the late Dorothy Britton and George Arthur Uplinger.

Larry married Marilyn Schutz on March 17, 1975 in Rockville, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter: Melanie (Gary) Uplinger-Catterson and granddaughter: Mary Uplinger-Catterson all of Covington, Indiana; three sisters and two brothers.

Larry was preceded in death by two sisters.

Larry was a farmer in the Parke/Vermillion County area for many years. He worked for 37 years at the Rockville Sale Barn. Farming was his only hobby. He enjoyed visiting with people at the sale barn. The love of his life was his granddaughter, Mary.

Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. EST Sunday, January 27, 2019 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana. Cremation will be accorded following visitation.
