Larry Lee Trimble, 82, of Alvin, IL passed away on May 14, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Larry was born on July 15, 1943 the son of Edward and Ruth (Stratton) Trimble in Watseka, IL. He married Brenda Blaker on September 23, 1961 at Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church in Danville, IL and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2024.
Survivors include his sons, Richard “Rick” Trimble of Bismarck, IL, and Robbie “Rob” Trimble of Alvin, IL, four grandchildren, Dalton (Hope) Trimble, Raymond Block, Denise Block, and Troy Dawes, and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Sue Spurgeon of Texas, three brothers, John Trimble of Danville, IL, Dale Trimble of Pheonix, AZ and Gale Henson of Ohio as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Brenda Trimble, one son, Mike Trimble, one daughter, Stephanie Block, two grandsons, Stephen and Timothy Block, two brothers, Carlin Trimble and Tim Trimble, one sister, Debra Brown.
Larry was a member of the Rock Church and retired from Bohn Aluminum/Heatcraft where he worked as a Millwright. He was also a member of the Armed Forces Judo Association and the United States Judo Association.
Larry held a Black Belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu and was a Sensei for over 25 years. He has won several martial arts competitions over the years. Most notably, Larry won the Light Heavyweight Class at the Ohio Valley Judo Championship, held in Chicago, IL, in 1973 and 1974.
In his free time he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, being a Ham Radio Operator with a Call Sign: N9JYK and enjoyed working on carpentry projects. Larry and his wife, Brenda, both loved animals, especially their dogs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Randy Downing will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the funeral home in Danville, IL.
Memorials may be made in Larry’s memory to the Danville Humane Society.
