Larry Thomas Mcneese

Larry Thomas McNeese, 70, of Danville, passed away at 10:46 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Larry was born on March 28, 1935 in Danville, the son of Herschel and Frances (Longer) McNeese. He married Marilyn DeVore on November 13, 1960 at the First Church of Christ Georgetown. She survives. He is also survived by his mother Frances McNeese; one daughter Kolleen Stacey of Oakwood; one granddaughter- Lexi Stacey of Oakwood; two aunts- Kathryne Bahls and Ruth Curry both of Danville; three cousins- Fritz (Kay) Morgan, Lindy Curry, and Cindy Curry all of Danville; and several very special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother- William McNeese. Larry graduated from Danville High School in 1953. After high school he attended Butler University. He worked for the Danville Parks Department for 20 years until retiring in 1998. He was a member of Bowman Avenue Methodist Church. He enjoyed sports. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Illini and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. Larry enjoyed visiting all of his friends at Steak and Shake. He also played fast pitch softball for many years. He was a 32 degree Mason. He was also a past member of the Boat Club. A celebration of the life of Larry Thomas McNeese will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday October 10, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. Bill Henry officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Larrys name to the American Heart Association.
