Larry Scott Parke, 46, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Georgetown, went to be with the lord after losing his battle with cancer on Friday, January 3, 2014. Larry “Scott” Parke was born in Danville, Illinois on September 17, 1967 to Larry D. and Mary Sue Bennett Parke. Scott graduated from Georgetown High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1990. He received his Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from Argosy University in 2013. Scott worked as a Pharmacist at various pharmacies in Illinois, Indiana and Florida and most recently worked for Florida Cancer Specialists. Besides collecting ball cards in all sports, his hobbies included watching and attending St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and he was an avid Bears and Illini fan. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and pulling shenanigans on his nieces. He is survived by: his parents; one sister, Nancy (Jay) Boose; one brother, Bradley Alan Parke; nieces, Shelby Boose, Erika Parke, and Autumn Parke; and nephews, Chad Runner and Jayson Boose. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, William and Eunice Richardson Parke; and Francis and Iva Dunivan Bennett. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with John Myers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to Noon prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to: St. Louis College of Pharmacy or Movember, a global organization set out to change the face of mens health.
