Larry L Miles

Larry L. Miles, 68, of Vermilion Grove passed away at 2:25 p.m. Sunday December 25, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on November 21, 1943 in Bedford, IN the son of Marvin and Esther (Tuggle) Miles. He married Beverly Vice on October 15, 1967 in Ridge Farm, IL. She survives. Other survivors include: his son, Dale (Judi) Miles of Westville, his daughter Laura (James) Morgan of Ridge Farm, nine grandchildren, Zachary, Brian, Christopher, Tyler, Aidan, Trevor, Dakota, Madison, and Taylor, five brothers, Donnie, Kenny, Dave, Rick, and Charlie Miles, three sisters, Mary Jane Smith, Sonna Baird, and Betty Conrad. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Doug Miles, two brothers, Jerry and Jack Miles, and one sister Marge Dailey. Larry retired from General Motors after 27 years of service. He then worked part time in construction for Tim Hart and Cloyd Kyger. He was a member of the U.A.W. 579. Larry enjoyed mushrooming, gardening, fishing, mowing and playing cards. He mowed the Vermilion Grove Cemetery for many years. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday December 30, 2011 at Sunset's Houghton Leasure Funeral Chapel, A Life Celebration home. Pastor James Blue will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday December 29, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vermilion Grove Cemetery.
