Larry Jones

Larry A. Jones, 67, of Tilton, passed away at 4:25a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. He was born on February 14, 1940 in Newport, IN, the son of Alfred J. and Bessie (Grimes) Jones. Larry married Dollie D. Meek on November 27, 1971 in Danville. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2006. Larry is survived by one step-son, Floyd Sanders, two step-daughters, Pam Simmons and Pat McGehee, one niece, Lorraine Doerr, and two nephews, Tom Haga and Jimmy Haga. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, Mary Haga. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, serving from May 1965 to May 1967. Larry worked at General Motors as a molder, with thirty years of service. He was a past member of the American Legion. Per Larrys wishes there will be no services, cremation will be accorded. Sunsets Community Life and Tribute Center, 3550 N. Vermilion, is in charge of arrangements. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
