Larry "Joe" Cox, 76 of Georgetown, IL passed away on May 8, 2020 after a brief illness.
Joe was born February 16, 1944 to Glenn and Ethel (Johnson) Cox. On September 1, 1962 he married the love of his life Saundra Peavler.
Joe is proceeded in death by his wife of 56 years, Saundra, his parents Glen and Ethel, and seven brothers and sisters, Margaret Mason, Glen Cox Jr, Betty Lenfesty, Walter "Sam" Cox, Carl Cox, Mary Beckner, and John Cox.
Joe was a respected member of the community and the meat cutters union. He did his apprenticeship at Eisner/Jewel in Danville, IL. Most recently he worked and retired from County Market in Danville, where he was the market manager.
Joe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and brother, is survived by his four children, Randy (Sandra) Cox of Springdale, AR, Penny Cox of Everton, MO, Timothy (Valerie) Cox of Lafayette, IN and Angela Burmeister of Normal, IL. Thirteen grandchildren, Jessica Bull, Stephanie Bennett, Michael Cox, Christi McCuiston, Aston Cox, Shelby Cox, Desi Pucci, Jeremy Cox, Kelsay Dickerson, Joshua Cox, Sydney Burmeister, Shelby Burmeister and Nathan Burmeister. Five great-grandchildren, Hunter Bull, Arlen Bull, Gunnarr McCuiston, Axel McCuiston and Melody Cox. One brother Robert Lee (Sarah) Cox, and three sisters, Elizabeth Askren, Patricia Shaw, Jean (Don) Lindley. Many nieces and nephews.
