Larry Jefferson

Larry Eugene Jefferson, 74, was born May 16, 1950. Larry resided at the Mattoon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at the time of death. He was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Willie and Annie Mae Jefferson. Larry was born with many challenges, but by the Grace of God, he overcame them all. He was raised and resided in South Bend, Indiana, where he accepted Christ as a youth. There he attended a neighborhood church regularly. In 1986, Larry moved to Champaign and became affiliated and was employed in workshops with different agencies through Developmental Services Center. In 1989, Larry moved into his own apartment through Champaign-Urbana Independent Living. He resided there for 35 years. Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his sister Mary (James) Harden, 2 nieces Angela (Jeffrey) Barkstall, Tawanna (Timothy) Nickens, 2 nephews, James III (Lashonna) Harden and Nathan (Kaylien) Harden, a special cousin, Clarence Collier and a host of great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willia and Annie Mae Jefferson, Grandmother Clara Mae Thomas, Aunt Martha Laster, Uncles Andrew Brown, Elonzo Horton and Mose Horton.
