Larry Gene Thurman

Larry Gene Thurman, 83, of Champaign passed away on Friday, April 11, 2021 at 5:30pm at C-U Rehab in Savoy.

He was born on April 8, 1938 in Calumet City, Indiana, a son of Lloyd an Opal Schoonover Thurman. Larry married Carol Matson on June 21, 1968. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2017.

Surviving are his son, Jimi Thurman of Champaign, stepdaughter Joyce Johnson of Urbana, and stepsons Jack (Sherry) Huddleston, Jr. of Monticello, and Jay (Sherry) Huddleston of Herrick, 9 step grandchildren, and 15 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and stepdaughter, Joni Johnson.

Larry was a truck driver and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
