Dana, Ind. - Larry Gene Brown, 82, of Dana, passed away at 3:39 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 30, 2020 at his residence.
Larry was born April 30, 1938 in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of the late James Maurice and Maudie Marie (Ward) Brown.
He married Barbara Jean Mullins on July 9, 1976 in Clinton, Indiana and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2016.
Survivors include his daughter: Terrye (Jon) Mullendore of Clinton, Indiana; son: Kevin Brown of Danville, Illinois; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and a sister: Lynnette (Jack) Fields of Dennison, Illinois.
Larry was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Kaydence Dycus.
Larry was a graduate of Honey Creek High School. He later went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. After retiring from the military, Larry became a truck driver where he was most recently employed by Ryder Truck Lines. He was a huge Indiana University and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Graveside service and burial: Noon EDT Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana with social distancing guidelines maintained. Officiating: Rev. Rick May. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 400 8th Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is honored to be caring for the Brown family.
