Larry G. Phillips, 66, of Tilton, died at 4:37 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Provena U.S.M.C. in Danville. Larry was born on July 27, 1940 in Danville, the son of Woodrow and Bertha (Tapscott) Phillips. He married Judy Edwards on June 6, 1965 in Georgetown. She survives. Larry is survived by his mother, Bertha Phillips of Tilton; two son, Brad (Carmelita) Phillips of Westville and Randy (Tia) Phillips of Tilton; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Larry) Goodwin of Danville, Beverly (Steven) Coppenbarger and Marilyn (Kent) Johnson both of Tilton; one brother-in-law, Jim (Joyce) Edwards of Georgetown; two brothers, Delbert (Joyce) Phillips of Catlin and Richard (Nancy) Phillips of Tilton; one sister, Shirley (Tom) Harris of Virginia; five grandchildren, Katlyn, Krista, Michelle and Michael Phillips and Micheal Grider and one step-granddaughter, Ashlea Robbins. He was preceded in detah by his father. Larry had worked at one time at Bohn and Lauhoff. He then worked at Eureka Printing for 15 years before working at Tee-Pak for 30 years. He enjoyed his Corvettes and doing yard work. Larry was a Cardinal baseball fan. He was involved in the Pony and Colt Leagues in Tilton and had umpired many high school baseball games. A celebration of Larrys life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Larrys name to American Cancer Society.
