Larry Etchison

Larry Etchison, 71, of Danville, Illinois passed away on August 2, 2010 at his residence. Larry was born August 27, 1938 in Danville, Illinois son of Russel and Alberta (Jones) Etchison. He married Joyce Sands on October 2, 1971 in Danville. She survives along with two daughters: Tammy (Etchison) Candler and Teresa (Etchison) Oatis ; brother Johnnie Johnson sisters: Joyce (Etchison) Cox and Nancy (Johnson)Baker; special little girl next door Hannah Glass; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy; brother Ronnie; grandson Dailey Oatis; and three great grandchildren. Larry went to Rankin high School and served in the U.S. Army for three years before attending the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs from 1979-1982. He worked for Hyster from 1971-1979. He was a truck driver from 1959-1971. A Celebration of Larrys Life will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery in Danville.
