Larry E. Key

Larry E. Key, 69, of Tilton, passed away at 1:45 PM on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on November 26, 1943 in Danville the son of Thomas Leo and Helen Louise (Jordan) Key. He married Peggy McCoy on December 26, 1965 in Danville. She survives. Survivors include two daughters- Candy Garowski of Westville, Jenny Reffett of Tilton, three grandchildren- Brandi Hunt of Georgetown, Terri Davis of Tilton, Alex Garowski of Bloomington, IL, and two great-grandchildren- Noah and Lucas Keller, three sisters- Garnet Hawblitzel, Shirley Dieu and Susan Crain all of Danville, He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-Larry Key Jr. and one sister- Anita Hamblin. He worked at Frey Tire as shop manager for over thirty years then worked for NACCO and Chemcast where he retired in 2008. Larry loved NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed gambling, working on cars and working in the garage. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Raymie Gordon officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
