Larry E. Hallett Sr.

Larry E. Hallett Sr., 75, of Westville, passed away at 2:58pm, Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at his home. He was born on October 13, 1942, in Danville, IL, the son of Raymond and Mary {Powell} Hallett. He was first married to Patty "Pat" Pickett in 1961 until her passing in 1998. He later wed Connie R. Laker on March 13, 2004, until her passing in 2014. Larry is survived by: his sons, Larry (Deena) Hallett Jr. of Danville, Bruce (Judith) Hallett of Stafford, Virginia, Mark (Marianne) Hallett of Cayuga, IN, Eric (Joy) Hallett of Bismarck, & Brandon (Crystal) Hallett of Westville; his step children, Dianna Drake, Michael Laker, & Michelle Hurt; his brother, Raymond (Linda) Hallett Jr of Tilton; his sister, Elaine (Bill) Darding of Kewanee, IL; his 15 grandchildren; his 12 great grandchildren; his 5 step grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry. Larry was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He worked as a truck driver for Schneider & Rail-Bros. He later became an owner/operator and leased his truck to Ravens. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing and tinkering on lawn mowers. Larry loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. A celebration of Larry's life will be held 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday, February 5, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Per his wishes, Larry will be cremated and laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be given in his name to The Shriner's Children's Hospitals or Ronald McDonald House Charity.
