Larry Joe Davis, age 67, of Danville, passed away at 6:17 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at his home. He was born January 23, 1940 in Oakwood, IL the son of Woodrow and Naomi Ruth (Wheeler) Davis. Larry married D. Virginia Copper (Rodenbeck) on March 7, 1998 in Oakwood. She survives. He is also survived by a son: Thomas (Barbara) Rodenbeck of Seymour, IN; three daughters: Renee (James) Parker of Danville, Reginia (Eric) Cales of Covington, IN, Elizabeth (Greg) Storm of Danville; a brother: Jay Dee Davis of Hollyspring, Mississippi; and a sister: Kathy (Larry) Kuchefski of Fithian; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three nieces: Jodie (Curtis) Dillman of St. Joseph, Jamie (Matt Brown) Malone of Oakwood, and Brundy (Jeff) Lyons of Fairmount. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Terry Davis, and a granddaughter: Kyra Delynn Sands. Larry served in the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a pipe fitter at TeePak for 35 years, was an EMT, and served as Coordinator for Oakwood Rescue for many years. Larry also served as a volunteer fireman in Oakwood and Bismarck. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Moose Lodge. He received the honor of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Larry loved spending time doing wood work.
