Larry Curry

Larry Alan Curry was born February 9, 1945. Larry went to ride alongside The Duke on September 3, 2016, at home with his loved ones next to his side. He was raised by his father, Donald Ray Curry and his grandmother, Marble Irene Curry. Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Lee Curry (Miller) and his daughter, Laura Irene Flessner (Curry); son-in-law, Ryan Flessner, three grandchildren, Skyler, Prisilah and Zanden. Also surviving are his two sisters, Donna Miller and Pat, his sister-in-law, Shirley Wagoner; brother-in-law, Raymond Wagoner; Sister-in-law, Karen Carter and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; his grandmother, Mable and his brother, Donald Curry Jr.; his best friend, more like a brother to him since they were 15; Jeff French (Lou Ann French), also survives him. Larry served his country for two years in the U.S. Army. Larry worked for Quaker Oats for 10 years before retiring in 2000. His hobbies included drawing, reading, home dcor, playing Bingo, card playing and building model ships and donating them to cancer patient raffles. He was a great singer and loved to sing karaoke, receiving requests as soon as he walked in the door. He loved to watch movies and created his own movie library. He loved to collect jewelry. He was an avid Western movie watcher and often said he was born in the wrong era. His imitation of John Wayne was incredible. Larry was very meticulous and lived by the motto: "everything in its place and a place for everything. Larry was a giver. He loved making others happy. Once, he gave a stranger his sunglasses because he liked them so much. He adored his grandchildren, wife and daughter; and his dream was making them happy. He will be missed by many. Visitation will be held 1-3 PM Saturday, September 10, 2016. A service will follow at 3 PM. Pastor Blue will officiate.
