Larry Bumpus

Larry Bumpus, 70, of Covington, IN, passed away at 4:36 AM on December 7, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lafayette, IN. He was born on July 20, 1942 the son of Paul and Marcille (Willis) Bumpus. He married Fran Carwile in 1962 in Covington and would have been married 50 years on December 14. She survives. Survivors include two sons- Jay (Karen) Bumpus, Todd (Leslie) Bumpus both of Covington, one daughter- Michelle (Justin) Fonner of Covington, one sister- Sharon Clancy of Danville, IL, seven grandchildren- Brandon, Zane, Morgan, Mattie, Evie, Austin, Emma, one brother in law- Jim (Judy) Carwile, two nieces- Amanda, Tami (Tim), four nephews- Jamie, Craig, Brian, Kevin(Ronica) and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Covington and served as a Deacon there for 30 years. He loved basketball and golf and cheering for the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Green Bay Packers. A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
