URBANA- Lanore H. Shelato, 94, of Urbana, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 11:51am on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the home of her son. Mrs. Shelato was born in Clinton, IN, on February 27, 1913, the daughter of John and Osa Barnhart Harper. Both of her parents precede her in death. On March 2, 1935, Lanore married Carl A. Shelato in Danville. He preceded her in death in 1982. Lanore is survived and will be missed by her son: Carl Denny Shelato, and his wife and most beloved daughter-in-law, Joan Shelato of Urbana, her two grandchildren; Michael Shelato of Urbana, and Diane Bushman of Philo. Her two step-grandchildren; Tom Bender of Urbana, Lori Bender of St. Joe, several great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and her three nieces; Donna Mae Steube, Joan Steube, both of Louisville, KY, and Ramona (Bud) Logan of Danville. Three sisters and three brothers precede Lanore in death. Lanore was a graduate of Newport High School in Newport, IN; a member of the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed crocheting, reading her Bible, and being with her family, and loved and adore her two little dogs, Pippi and Swoosh. During her employment years, Lanore worked at Urbana High School, and later, at the Georgetown Library before retiring. Graveside services for Mrs. Lanore Shelato will begin at 9:30am on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Georgetown Cemetery. Pastor James Blue will officiate the service. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be given in Lanores name to the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene.
