Lana McCarty

Lana Susanne (Dellacca) McCarty of Rantoul, IL. passed away on Tuesday January 27, 2026, in Paxton, IL. She was born on November 10, 1951, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Robert Eugene Dellacca and Virgie (Black) Dellacca. After graduating from Van Buren High School in rural Brazil, in 1969, she attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute where she graduated in 1971 with two Bachelor of Science degrees in English and Political Science. She moved to Paris, IL. in the spring of 1973 to begin her career which included, quality control specialist at Zenith TV until 1978. From 1978-1986 she worked at the Colson Company as CRT and Data Entry Inspector from 1995-2015. She was also a home health care worker in the Paxton/Rantoul area.

She married Donald Lee McCarty on September 17, 1977, in Paris, IL. They then moved to Paxton from 1986-1995 and then to Rantoul. Lana retired in 2005 because of health issues and purchased a condo on the west side of Rantoul. They attended Christian Life Church from 1999 and were baptized in February 2008. When her health declined in July of 2017, she was unable to attend, but Don continued to attend until shortly before his passing in November of 2022. They were often visited by Pastor Dennis Daniel for bible study, discussions and communion.

Per Donna’s wishes she will be cremated and buried beside her husband in their family plot at Embarras Cemetery in Redmon, IL.
