L. Bernice Grubb, 97, of Covington, IN, passed away at 10:48am, Monday, April 12, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born in Hope, IL, on February 14, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Mary {Wise} Davis. She was united in marriage to William Grubb on April 18, 1943. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her children, Marilyn (Ross) Hankins, F. Dale (Phyllis) Grubb, Jean (Dave) Allen, all of Covington; her eight grandchildren; her 4 step grandchildren; her many great grandchildren, as well as several great-great grandchildren; and her numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Harold Grubb; and eight siblings. Bernice was a loving mother who made a home for her family. She volunteered her time by being involved with the HomeEc Club, Girl Scouts for 35 years, and was a member of the Easter Star-Troy Chapter for 77 years. Her greatest love was gathering her children & grandchildren around her for family dinners and making her famous noodles. She was known for being one of the oldest living members of the First Baptist Church and most recently attended Cates Community Church. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am (EST), Friday, April 16, 2021, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, IN with Dusty Woodrow officiating. It is kindly requested face masks be worn and social distancing practiced by attendees. Memorial donations may be given in her name to St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Her family has entrusted her arrangements to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932.
