Kyoko Sunagawa Copas, 73, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, formerly of Danville, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Womack Army Hospital at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Kyoko was born on October 16, 1932 in Okinawa, Japan the daughter of Kaiko and Masa Sunagawa. She married Sergeant Major Marshall Cowboy Copas in Okinawa, Japan. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1994. He is survived by her mother; two daughters- Patricia Foster of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Tammy (Jim) Cook of Tampa, Florida; one brother- Sadio Sunagawa; one grandson- Garth Cook of Tampa, Florida; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and husband. Kyoko was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Fayetteville Okinawa Kenjinkai. She enjoyed bingo and going bowling. Her grandson was the love of her life and she enjoyed being around him. A celebration of the life of Kyoko Sunagawa Copas will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Rev. James Blue officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
