Cayuga, Ind. - Kim Major, 61, of Cayuga, passed away at 6:41 p.m. EDT Friday, June 16, 2017 at her residence.

She was born November 15, 1955 in Sacramento, California the daughter of the late Joanne (McClellan) Bridges and Leon Hinkle.

Survivors include her daughter, Amber Lewis of Clinton, Indiana; two sons, Clint (Amy) Lewis of Whitestown, Indiana and John Michael Major of Clinton, Indiana; four grandchildren; two sisters, Debbie Edland of Cayuga, Indiana and Donna Jo (Mike) Stout of Perrysville, Indiana, and one brother, J.D. Bridges of Perrysville, Indiana.

Kim was preceded in death by her niece, Tabitha Stout; nephew, Jeremiah Edland, and one sister, Tina Wise Reed.

Kim served as the Vermillion County Assessor from 1988 until her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed working on crafts, mushrooming, baking and going to casinos. Her favorite time of the year was the Christmas season. Her other joy in life was her dog, Scooby.

There will be no services. Cremation was accorded. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
