Danville Kevin Michael Colombo was born in Chicago on August 23, 1953, to Patrick and Jeanne Colombo and was one of 5 siblings. He died on July 11 of an apparent stroke. He was 70.
Kevin got his B.A. in English from UIC in 1978, followed by earning his law degree in 1981 from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He was a partner at Saikley, Garrison, Colombo, and Barney for nearly 40 years.
Kevin had many interests along with a great sense of humor. He gave credit to the Brookfield Zoo and his job of shoveling elephant "pies" as his motivation for finishing college. He was an avid reader, golfer, and poker player. He had a passion for history and music. According to his little sisters, he was the best giver of noogies ever. He was an expert Table Tennis player starting back during his days at UIC. He once won a prize for having the "Best Legs." He ran the Chicago Marathon several times. He earned various professional accolades including the Pro Bono Service Award in 2015.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Colombo, his brother Rick Colombo, and his uncle Gerald Griffin. He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Colombo, sisters Leah Bolek, Janet Lattmann (John), Valerie Redlich (Michael) and several nieces and nephews: Brian Bolek (Rachel), Valerie Bolek (Jose), Zachary Lattmann (Amber), Patrick Lattmann, Luke Lattmann, Michael Redlich, and great-nephews, Patrick Lattmann, TJ Bolek, and Wesley Bolek. We thought of Kevin as the funny jokester, always ready with a smile. He will be sorely missed.
