Kevin J. Powell

Georgetown, Ill. -- Kevin J. Powell, 52, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:05 p.m. CST Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. He was born December 2, 1958 in Danville, Illinois, the son of the late Junior and Phyllis Cheesman Powell. He married Cindy Ray on July 17, 1976 in Georgetown, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Kevin J. Powell, II; Patrick A. Powell and Timmie J. Powell all of Georgetown, Illinois; five grandchildren, Ivory, Kamron, Nicolas, Emily and Maddisyn Powell; mother in law, Evelyn Nolen of Georgetown, Illinois; two sisters, Teresa(John)Bushue of Covington, Indiana and Lori Powell of Attica, Indiana; two brothers, Steve(Barb)Powell of Pennsylvania and Tracy Powell of Indiana; many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in law, Harold Nolen. Kevin was a former motorcycle mechanic at Thompson Motorsports in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a member of the G.W.R.R.A. Chapter D in Terre Haute. Kevin enjoyed working on derby cars and riding his motorcycle.
