Kevin Dennemann, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in Urbana, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on May 3, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, Kevin traveled through life embodying the spirit of community and connection, as he was known to never meet a stranger.
In his 69 years, Kevin carved out a life rich with experiences, filled with the love of his family and the joy of friendships. His 42-year marriage to his devoted wife, Kelly, was a testament to partnership and shared dreams. Together, they raised two daughters, Kara and Kailyn, who were not only fortunate to have a supportive father but also a passionate coach who took immense pride in guiding them through their sporting journeys.
As an avid sports fan, Kevin enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Illini athletics. Bowling, golfing, camping, and softball were not just hobbies for Kevin; they were avenues of connection with loved ones, where every experience was enriched by the laughter and shared moments with family and friends. Summer evenings were often spent on the back porch as he enjoyed the simplicity of being surrounded by those he loved.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Kelly, his daughters, Kara and Kailyn (Tyyron), his grandchildren—Amarii, Adrien, August, and the newest blessing, Amelia, on the way and stepfather Mike Dennemann.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Bea Dennemann and Hargus Sermon, and his brother, Darren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the Champaign County Humane Society.
