Kerry L. Johnson

Kerry L. Johnson, 75, of Champaign passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He was born in Urbana on August 27, 1950, the son of Lloyd and Peggy Johnson.

Kerry is survived by his beloved wife, Rhoda (Lemon) Johnson, son, Brad (Jess) Johnson, Stepdaughters, Dawn Jacob, Danielle Truitt, grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Quinten Truitt, Makenzie Patterson, brother, Tom Johnson, and sister, Elizabeth “Beth” DuFrane.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Johnson.

Kerry was known for his outgoing and friendly nature. He loved being around people and was often described as a social butterfly. He enjoyed coaching sports including softball and wrestling.

His presence will be missed by many who knew him. Kerry’s friendly spirit and love for life left a positive mark on those around him.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with services immediately to follow on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Lux Chapel 1551 E. Grove Ave. Rantoul, IL 61866.
