Kenneth Wayne Miller, 60, of Danville passed away 6:16am, Monday, September 13, 2021, at his sisters house in Perrysville, Indiana. He was born on January 15, 1961, in Danville, Illinois the son of Richard and Norma Jean {Upperman} Miller. He was united in marriage to Barbara Milius on June 25, 1983, in Danville. She survives. Ken will be dearly missed by his father, Richard (Judy) Miller of Mishawaka, IN; his mother, Norma Jean Long of Danville, IL; his son, Cole (Dr. Rob ODonnell) Miller of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his siblings, Cheryl (Kevin) Murdock of Perrysville, IN, Lisa (Bill) West of Danville, & William (Michelle) Miller of Hoffman Estates, IL; his nieces & nephews, Jennifer Martinez, Brittany West, Brock West, William Miller Jr., Madeline Miller, & Alicia Miller; as well as many great nieces & great nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James R. Long; his maternal & paternal grandparents; and his son, Cody Miller. After high school, Ken worked for Chuckles in Danville for many years, gaining the nickname, Lurch. When it closed, Ken enrolled at Worsham College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1993. He spent the next 30 years serving families in Vermilion County as one of the most compassionate funeral directors. Ken enjoyed taking his family and friends for rides in his classic 1964 Thunderbird, commonly referred to as the Bat Mobile". He enjoyed his days boating, his time at the Lake of Ozarks, antique cars, camping, riding his motorcycle, and antiques of any kind. He once restored his classic 1951 Ford 8N tractor. Ken was known to many as an originator of nicknames and witticisms that have lasted throughout his career and will continue to last. He was a good person and had a unique ability to connect with everyone and make them feel comfortable. Ken was the first person to help someone in need and always was available to help anyone in need. Some of Kens most memorable days were taking Cole and Cody to the Indianapolis Speedway for time trials, as they enjoyed the day off from school to go. He was known to be a big Elvis Presley fan, often singing in his voice & imitating the moves to many friends. He truly loved his family and often said he was right with the Lord and meant it. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm, Friday, September 17, 2021, at Second Church of Christ, 3350 E Voorhees St, Danville, IL, 61834 with Greg Taylor and Pastor James Bro Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday prior to his service at the Church. As per Kens wishes, cremation rites were accorded. He will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville next to his son, CodyGuy. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Carle Cancer Center or Second Church of Christ.
