Kenneth Wesley Hillard, 71, of Danville passed away at 2:38 AM December 13, 2004 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born June 1, 1933 in Cincinnati (Lockland), OH, to Leslie B. and Grace E. (Brown) Hillard. Ken married Helen F. Jones December 4, 1976 in Westville. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth E (Mary) Hillard, and James A. (Penny) Hillard, both of Danville, and three daughters, Brenda June Hillard of North Carolina, Linda Jean(Barnett) Hillard of Virginia and Teresa Lynn Frazier of Westville, three brothers, Ronald L. Hillard of Ridgefarm, Roger D. Hillard of Bedford IN; and Robert W. Hillard of Westville, one sister Mildred A. (Nick) Nickle of Westville, eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with four more expected soon, and special friends, Carol and Eddie Pate of Georgetown. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Karen Jean Hillard, two sons, Robert Vallen Hillard and James Wesley Hillard, and one sister Audrey Hillard. Ken was a Korean War veteran, serving active duty in both the Navy and Army. He retired as a First Sergeant after twenty-six and one half years with the Illinois National Guard. He was a licenced plumber, and founder of Kensco Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling business in 1976. Ken was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene. He belonged to the American Legion. He enjoyed camping and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his cats Stormy, Alice and George.
