Kenneth Tuggle, 82, passed peacefully on January 8, 2026. He was born on August 11, 1943, as the youngest son of James and Mary Lometa (Tillotson) Tuggle.

Kenny graduated from Covington High School, class of 1961. After serving in the US Navy, Kenny returned to Covington where he met his best friend and the love of his life, Sandy (Roderick) Tuggle. The two were married on February 26, 1966. They loved to travel together, with Kenny always eager for the next trip, especially to visit a casino and to escape the winter cold. The two enjoyed almost 55 wonderful years of marriage before Sandy’s passing in 2020.

Kenny was a caring and generous man who loved to laugh, never missing an opportunity for ribbing and bantering. He impacted the lives of many young people in the community through the Covington Little League, and he was instrumental in starting the soccer league in Covington. He also enjoyed golf for many years, which resulted in some special friendships, but most important to Kenny was his family.

As the father of Matt Tuggle and Jill (Joe) Stanis, he never missed a game or activity in which his kids or grandkids participated. Kenny’s greatest joy was being a grandpa to his three granddaughters: Riley Shambach, Sydney Tuggle, and Camryn Tuggle.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana on Sunday, January 18 at 3:00 pm. His family was assisted by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Covington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Buddy Bags Fund through the Covington Community Foundation. Please join Kenny’s family in sharing pictures, videos, and memories on his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
