Kenneth B. Taylor was born February 15, 1930, to Fred Jr. Taylor and Helen Everett on a train in Watseka, IL. He was raised in Danville, IL by Fred Jr and Meredith (Gutteridge) Taylor. He joined the Army 82nd Airborne in 1948, and was discharged in 1952, and soon after he met the girl he married on Sept. 5, 1954. M. Virginia Hess became Mrs. Virginia Taylor, and they had 4 children together — Michael (Linda) Taylor, Scott (Donna) Taylor, Phillip Taylor and Victoria (Vickie) Taylor-Hill. Through these children he was blessed with grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids.

He has one living brother, Fred Taylor III. He was proceeded in death by his brother William Pickering and a sister, Sue Langdon, brother-in-law Joe Langdon and sister-in-law Janet Taylor. His parents are deceased.


When he got out of the Army, he worked as a carpenter and later as a car mechanic. His favorite past time was anything Harley Davidson.

Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Robbie Ketcherside officiating. Burial will take place at Forrest Park Cemetery, E. West St. Georgetown, IL 61846.
