Kenneth Richard Abernathy

Covington, Ind. -- Kenneth Richard Abernathy, 73, of Covington, Indiana, passed this life at 7 a.m. EDT on October 5, 2007. Richard was born on February 8, 1934 in Wabash Township to Kenneth Samuel Abernathy and Lucille B. Davis Abernathy. Richard resided in Wabash Township his whole life. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Richard was married to Patricia O. Drollinger on May 5, 1955. Richard is survived by his loving family, Richard's wife of 52 years Pat, Richard's children; Scotty(Susan)Abernathy of Reno, Nevada; Stanley(Tonya)Abernathy of Covington, Indiana; Ricky(Kristy)Abernathy of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Jeffry(Chris)Abernathy of Covington, Indiana; Kenny(Mariann)Abernathy of Tuscola, Illinois and his daughter, Michelle Lee "Sissy"(Richard)Tolbert of Perrysville, Indiana. Richard is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Richard formerly worked at Olin's in Covington for 18 years. He later managed the Covington Shell Station. Richard was a graduate of Perrysville High School and a member of the Perrysville Unity Lodge #344. Richard was a life long sports fan. Richard's favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Indiana Hoosier's Basketball. Richard will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana. As per Richard's request, there will be no visitation or services. Contributions may be made to the Perrysville Fire Department, 132 Main Street, Perrysville, Indiana 47974.
