Kenneth “Ken” W. Hill, 75, of Oakwood, IL passed away at 5:34 PM on January 8, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Ken was born on January 3, 1951 the son of Eugene and Marie (Sumann) Hill in Chicago, IL. He married Karen Jett on July 20, 1971 in Danville, IL and she preceded him in death on December 27, 1990.
Survivors include his children, Denise (Shannon) Pruitt of Spring Grove, IL, Jeremy (Erin) Hill of Sheboygan Falls, WI and Adam (Heather) Hill of Hoopeston, IL, siblings, Jim (Kaye) Hill of Plano, IL and Fred (Peggy) Hill of Danville, IL, and his partner, Lori Flessner of Oakwood, IL. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his Labrador “Izzy.”
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Karen Hill, and his siblings, Henry Hill, Donnie Hill, and Dorothy DeRe.
Ken retired from TeePak/Viscofan after 38 years of service where he worked as a shift supervisor. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed his Corvettes and classic cars, and loved to go boating, fishing and camping.
The family requests casual attire for visitation and services.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Bill Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Ken’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia Research Foundation.
