Kenneth J Newman

Kenneth J. Newman, 66, of Champaign, passed away at 10:37 PM on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born January 2, 1949 in Urbana, Illinois, the son of Donald and Helen Shackman Newman. He married Maureen Dahl on July 6, 1968 in Champaign. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Christopher (Mariana) Newman of St Joe; 3 brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Newman of Indiana, Michael (Mary) Newman of Bloomington, Illinois, and James (Iris) Ducey of St. Joe; 2 sisters, Carolyn (Daryl) Gerald of Champaign and Julie (Bradley) La Payne of Champaign; and 2 grandchildren, Kimberly and Jacob Newman, both of St. Joe. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ken was a retired sheet metal worker from the former Hart and Schroeder in Champaign. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports. Ken's time on earth was a blessing that enriched the lives of so many others. As per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
