Kenneth Eugene Cramer, 85 of Fithian, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11:50 PM at his home. He was born May 28, 1930 in Oakwood, the son of Ferris and Kathryn (Finnin) Cramer. Kenneth married Evelyn Covert on August 4, 1956 in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Carter of Danville; his children, Julie Pichon of Fithian, Kendall Cramer of Westville, and Joslyn (John) Cramer of Danville; grandchildren, Veronica Sasseen, Victoria (Rob) Crippin, Kerri (Andy) Clausen, Kim Cramer, Kaleena Engelmann, Kendall Cramer, Minda Pichon, Marissa Pichon, Jimmy Richards, and Shane Richards; great-grandchildren, Austin, Robert, William, Kalyssa, Kamilla, Madalyn, Camdyn, Nolan, and baby girl Clausen on the way; as well as many other friends, family, and people who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John, Ferris, and Stanley, and an infant son, Jimmy. Kenneth worked many jobs supporting his family. He owned Cramer's Tavern on Main Street in Danville, was a barber at Murphy's Barber Shop in Hillery, and retired from the VA Illiana Healthcare Systems in Danville. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the VFW. Kenneth was also a member of the Fithian's Men's Euchre Club, past member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He currently attended Batestown United Methodist Church. Kenneth loved his family very much. He was the most amazing grandpa and great-grandpa that would do anything for his family. He even passed on to them his poker skills. Kenneth was an awesome card player and made many friends through playing cards, some he's played cards with for 30 years or more. He also enjoyed watching baseball and cheering on his team, the St. Louis Cardinals. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Batestown United Methodist Church, 2224 Batestown Road, Danville. Pastor Patti Wise will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #210. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel, Oakwood.
