Kenneth Eugene Bryson

Kenneth E. Bryson, 87, of Rantoul, passed away at 3:54 AM on Saturday, December 12th, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 15, 1928 in Newkirk, Oklahoma, the son of Clark and Victoria Bodie Bryson. He married Berniece Norman on April 5, 1953, in Topeka Kansas. She survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Barney Bryson of Urbana and Ron (Pam) Bryson of Rantoul; and one granddaughter, Kristina Bryson of Champaign. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Ken graduated from Newkirk High School in Oklahoma as well as the former Oklahoma A&M University. He served his country for many years in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Airforce, and taught college at the University of Guam while in the military. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Urbana, as well as prepared taxes for H&R Block in Rantoul. As per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N Neil Street Champaign has been entrusted with assisting the Bryson Family. Private burial will be held at Danville National Cemetery, with Military Rites performed by the American Legion Post #210 of Danville. Memorials may be made in Kenneth's name to the Danville American Legion Post #210.
