Kenneth E. Parmley

Kenneth E. Parmley, 75, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 9:10pm, Monday, February 28, 2011, at his residence. He was born on February 17, 1936, in Eadsville, Kentucky, the son of John B. and Ferbie Ellen (Gross) Balinger, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Patty Washburn until her passing in 1998. He later was wed to Georgia Middlemas; she survives. Those who will also miss him include: his children, Steve (Valarie) Parmley of Bismarck, Scott Douglass (Theresa) Parmley of Greenfield, IN, Lora (John) Drown of Florida, & Lisa Myers of Indianapolis; his step-children, Mike (Sue) Middlemas of Lawrenceville, Jeff Middlemas of Boise, ID, & James (Tiffany Meschark) Middlemas of Peoria, & Janet (Richard) Jones of Westville; many grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; his brothers, Roscoe (Kim) Parmley of Westville, Lawrence (Mary) Parmley of Decatur, AL, & James Parmley of Indianapolis; and his good friends, Mary Meeker and Mack & Becky Calvert. He was preceded in death by: several brothers; a sister; and his best friend, Tuffy. Kenneth was a proud veteran of the US Marines. He worked and retired from General Motors. He was a past member of the Eagles in Danville and Moose Lodge in Casey, IL. Kenneth enjoyed playing his guitar, but most of all enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandkids that he loved very much. A celebration of Kenneths life will be held at10:00am, Friday, March 4, 2011, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, Georgetown, with Pastor Gerald McPhillips to officiate. A Graveside Service will be held later and will be at 2:30pm, Friday, March 4, 2011, at Cumberland Cemetery in Casey, IL. Visitation will be held 5-8pm, Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, Georgetown. He will be laid to rest in Cumberland Cemetery, Casey. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Parmley Grove Baptist Church.
