Kenneth E. DeVoss, age 71, Passed this life surrounded by the love of his Family March 4, 2013, at his Covington, IN. residence Kenneth was born August 9, 1941 in Danville, IL. The youngest child of Manley and Helen (Wycoff) DeVoss. He married Janice Williams June 5, 1964; although they later divorced, they maintained a special friendship throughout his life. He attended Danville schools and served honorably in the army. He was stationed in Germany for the majority of his time in the service to his country. Kenneth was a 32nd degree Mason ,Danville Anchor Lodge #980 He worked for General Motors Central Foundry Division for 33 years, retiring in 1992. After GM Kenneth drove a long haul semi-truck for Raven Corporation. Kenneth was an avid NASCAR fan, with his favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, gardening, yard work, mushroom hunting and above all else he loved spending time with his family. Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory; two daughters Debra (Steve) Kotcher of Indianola, and Laura DeVoss of Danville, three grandchildren, Elizabeth Kotcher of Indianola, Faith Setser of Danville, and Kenneth Jr. DeVoss of Danville, one nephew, Kenneth (Paulette) Miller of Danville, two nieces Julie (Frank) Fitzwater of Covington and Brenda (Darren) Stokes of Georgetown, and thirteen great and great-great nieces and nephews. His quick smile and loving, generous nature will be deeply missed by all. Kenneth was preceded in death by; both his parents, two sisters, Marcella Miller and her two infants, Waunita McGinnis, and a nephew Terry McGinnis. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Kenneth's life which will be held at 2:00 Pm on Friday March 8, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor James Blue officiating and burial at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors performed by American Legion Post 210. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with Masonic rites. Memorials can be made in Lieu of flowers or the American Liver Foundation.
