Kenneth Allen Asbury, Sr.

Howard, Ind. -- Kenneth Allen Asbury, Sr., 70, of Howard, passed away at 1:39 a.m. EDT Friday, September 18, 2009 at his residence in Howard. He was born September 27, 1938 in Clinton, Indiana, the son of the late R.J. and Dorothy Pittman Asbury. He married Sallie Atkinson on March 30,1957 in Cayuga, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Cathy Asbury of Rockville, Indiana; three granddaughters, Rana Cooper of Rockville, Indiana; Manda Asbury of Howard, Indiana and Brandy Lindley of Tangier, Indiana; one great granddaughter, Gracey; five great grandsons, Christopher, Johnathan, Jacob, Gabriel and Gage; one sister, Gayla Schwab of Chicago, Illinois and one brother, Dick Asbury of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth A. Asbury, Jr. Kenneth was the owner and operator of J.R.'s Wood Shop in Howard, Indiana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing his guitar. Graveside service and burial: 1 p.m. EDT Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Carl Huxford. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
