Kenneth A. Weidner, 84, of Westville, passed away at 9:57am, Friday, December 11, 2015, at his home. He was born March 31, 1931, in Middletown, PA, the son of Walter and Dorothy Hahn Weidner. Ken married Clemence M. Beaver on February 19, 1955 in Westville. She preceded him in death. Those who will miss him include: his two daughters, Darlene D. Wilson of Danville & Sharon L. (Charles) Strebin of Westville; one sister, Evelyn Barley of Elizabethtown, PA; four grandchildren, Cory (Tammy)Barton of Danville, John (Andrea) Novick of Bourbonnais, Todd (Leah) Strebin of Oahu, HI, Troy Strebin of Westville; great-grandchildren, Savanna Novick of Herscher, IL, Jody Novick of Bourbonnais, IL, Olivia Novick of Bourbonnais, IL, Kristopher Smith of Chico, CA, Kolby (Taryn) Strebin of Odenton, MD, Gloria Bearce of Ocala, FL, Amy Strebin of Fullerton, CA, Shyan Strebin of Fullerton, CA, & Mark Strebin of Westville, IL; and his two great-great grandchildren, Amaya & Abraham of Fullerton, CA. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Clemence; his son, David; his grandson, Jody; his sister, Jean; and his brother, Ronald. Kenneth graduated from Hershey High School in Hershey, PA. He was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force where he had many accomplishments. He retired from Chanute Air Force Base. He was instrumental in planning many projects including the Minuteman Missile Control System in South Dakota. He was a member of the Westville American Legion Post #51. He was also a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. He especially enjoyed being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, December 14, 2015, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor David Robberts. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm - 3:00pm Monday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, IL, with Military Honors conducted by the Westville American Legion Post #51. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in his name to Trinity United Church of Christ, Westville.
