Kelly Barrett

Kelly Barrett, 65, of Danville passed away on August 28, 2024 at her home in Danville, IL.

Kelly was born on March 13, 1959 in Danville, IL the daughter of James and Sheila McDonnell.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Jonathan) Keller of Lebanon, IN, her beloved grandchildren, Zachary (Jesika) Barrett of Darlington, IN, Christopher Pettice of Alvin, IL, Mackenzie Pettice of Alvin, IL, John Carver of Veedersburg, IN, Peyton Keller-Edwards (Corey) of Stuart, FL, Taylor Myers (Drew Sellers) of Fishers, IN, Shelby Myers of Mulberry, IN and Harley Keller of Lebanon, IN and a great-grandson, Keller James Edwards of Stuart, FL. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Shelly Huelsman of Nashua, New Hampshire and two other sisters, Sheryl Wilson and Lisa McDonnell. Kelly also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Kelly is preceded in death by both of her parents and two sisters, Beatrice Root and Janice Otto Windman.

Kelly worked as a Respiratory Therapist for many years and was extremely proud of her college graduation accomplishment in the field of medical care, taking after many generations of nurses in the family. Kelly was a woman of many talents and passions. Whether she was cooking up a storm in the kitchen and making her famous coconut cookies for her grandchildren, tending to her beloved garden and teaching her grandchildren about various flowers, or sharing her wisdom and love with those around her, she did so with a grace and elegance that was truly unmatched. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and comforting presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kelly was a devoted loving mother, but above all, the greatest love she had was for her beautiful grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Father Cyr will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the funeral home.
