Keith Peregrine

Keith Allen Peregrine, 66, of Philo, IL, passed away December 18, 2023. Keith was born to Robert and Eleanor (Krug) Peregrine in Valparaiso, Indiana. He graduated from Kankakee Valley High School, received an M.S. in Geophysics and B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University. He married Esther Wenslaff on September 1, 1985, in West Lafayette, Indiana. Keith worked as a geophysicist for ARCO Oil Exploration in Lafayette, LA and Plano, TX; a computer technician on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands; a school teacher in Westville, IL; and a computer analyst in Champaign, IL. Keith loved plants and was an active member of the St. Croix Orchid Society and St. George Botanical Garden tour guide while he lived on St. Croix. He was an avid rock collector and a member of the Lincoln Orbit Earth Science Society (LOESS), Geode Land Earth Science Clubs, Inc. (GESCI) and the Copper Country Rock & Mineral Club. He also loved woodworking, turning many beautiful pieces on his lathe. Keith was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and taught Sunday school for many years. Keith is survived by his wife Esther; daughter Elizabeth, Urbana, IL; son Kevin, sister Roberta Bobbie (Louie) Ketchum, Tefft, IN; sister-in-laws Barb Peregrine, Tefft, IN; Virginia (Terry) Linton, Sacramento, CA; Jeanie (David) Wantz, Hudson, WI; Linda (Tom) Herold, Burlingame, CA; Mary Eppolito, Ben Lomond, CA; and brother-in-laws Tim (Xiao) Wenslaff, Chico, CA; and Jeff (Jane) Wenslaff, Chico, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am, March 9, 2023 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 507 S Rose St, Kouts, IN
