Keith Jones

Keith W. Jones, of Danville and formerly of Fithian, passed away on July 1, 2009 at The Waters of Covington. Keith was born October 25, 1924 in Fisher, Illinois son of George E. and Melvina (Jordan) Jones. He married Barbara Cunningham on September 14, 1947 at Walnut Corner Church, Bismarck. She preceded him on November 28, 1975. Survivors include four children: David Jones of Nashville, TN, Marilyn Brengle of Urbana, IL, Mark Jones of Lafayette, IN, and Richard (JoEllen) Jones of Danville, IL; grandchildren: Jennifer (John) Shand of Statesville, NC, Sandra (Josh) Fellers of Champaign, IL, Barbara Jones of Danville, IL, Mary Jones of Danville, IL, Melissa Jones of Indianapolis, IN, Rebecca Jones of Overland Park ,KS, Scott Jones, Jeff Jones, Christina Jones, and Matthew Jones all of Lafayette, IN; as well as 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Emery Jones, sister Edith Knight, and grandson Andrew Jones. Keith was a 42 graduate of Oakwood High School and had worked as a farmer in the Fithian area for 45+ years. He was an active member of the Muncie Baptist Church in Muncie for 56 years, as well as a member of the Vermilion County Farm Bureau. A Celebration of Keiths Life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 3, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Rev. David Jones officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Walnut Corner Cemetery in Bismarck.
