On the second day of October in the year two thousand eighteen a bright light in our family was extinguished. Her name was Keisa Nicole Hayes, and she was special to us. Her father is David Hayes Jr, originally from Cottonport, Louisiana, and her mother's maiden name was Delois Mays, from Itta Bena, Mississippi. Keisa was born on January 7, 1972, completed continued education by graduating from University of Illinois Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and was employed by the State of Illinois. Keisa's inner circle of family and friends who survive her are: her sisters, Lolita Nicole Hayes and Mallory Joy Hayes-Roberts; brother-in-law Marcell Roberts; her father, David, and his wife Dominique Hayes who he married after the death of her mother, Delois; two step siblings, Penny Dominique and Glynn Dominique; nephews and nieces, Anthony Tavon Sledge, Malachi Roberts, and Emerie Roberts; her cat who was her baby, Kiyyen; god-sisters and best friends, Leslie and Richelle; special life-friends, Ellen, Brett, and Barney; and god-children, Ryan, Cameron, Maiyah & Kamron. However, Keisa will be also missed by many other family members, friends, and loved ones too numerous to name. While Keisa never married nor had children, her legacy remains in the memories and hearts of her family and close friends she leaves behind to be perpetuated and cherished as someone who was richly loved and will be dearly missed.
