Kathy L Cooper

Kathy Cooper, 64, of Rantoul, IL passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.

She will be buried at Maplewood Cemetery in a private service.

Kathy was born July 8, 1960 in Champaign to Curtis and Ersie (Luttrell) Cooper.

She attended Gifford and Rantoul Schools.  She lived in Gifford most of her life until the Gifford Tornado.

Surviving is her son, Vance Cooper of Armstrong and 2 granddaughter’s, Ersie Cooper of Villa Grove and Ellie Cooper of Armstrong.  One sister Kay Babb of Champaign and 3 nephews, Billy Moore, Scotty Moore, Gary (Lisa) Babb,  as well as a special niece Cindy Gremer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gary and a sister Dot Moore, and a nephew Mark Moore and a great-niece Madisyn Moore.

Kathy loved animals especially her black lab “Belle”.  She also loved the Kansas City Chiefs, especially Patrick Mahomes #15.  Kathy will be greatly missed and she bravely fought her battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was looking forward to Heaven!

Memorials may be made to Transitions Hospice or to a cancer fund.
