Kathryn Melinda Roark, 90, of Westville, died at 5:33pm, Sunday, September 18, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital, Williamsport, Indiana. She was born on April 3, 1921, in Danville, IL, the daughter of James and Goldie {Devore} Blue, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Roark on November 23, 1944, in Great Bend, KS, until his passing on December 24, 1991. She is survived by: her sons, Ronald K. (Kathie) Roark & Robert D. (Connie) Roark; her grandchildren, Todd Quillman, Shelly K. (Josh) Rainey, Shane A. (Dawn) Roark, Sean Quillman, Salena (Eric) Woodrow, Kelly Shea Roark, & Stephen N. Pierce; her great grandchildren, Jeremy Barker, Kasey Roark, Ashley Roark, Mackenzie Rainey, Lauren Beirl, Niko Roark, Dakota Quillman, Logan Rainey, Braden Rainey, Jayden Roark, Ryan Beirl, Sophia Woodrow, & Crosby Woodrow; many nieces & nephews; and special friends, Char Pierce, Connie Sellers, Maryann Cooperider, & Janice Estes. She was preceded in death by: her sons, Larry & Terry Roark; her sister, Jean Blue-Barrett; and her brother, James Blue. Kathryn was proud member of Eastern Star Catlin Lodge Chapter, eventually transferring to Irish Chapter in Danville, for more than fifty-five years. She was also a member of The White Shrine, Rainbow Girls, & Illiana Organeers. She enjoyed taking pictures of family and friends, especially her grand & great grandchildren, painting, making keepsakes in her craft room, baking and being a devoted Illini fan. Katie will forever be remembered for her strong will, quick wit, the love she had for her friends and family and growing up in the Westville community. The family would like to send a special "thank you" to Covington Waters and the nursing staff at St. Vincent's Hospital in Williamsport. A celebration of Kathryn's life will be 11:00am, Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor Don Thornton officiating. Visitation will be held 10-11am on Thursday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery.
